OMS pull out of Sonisphere! :(

Crap! One Minute Silence have pulled out of Sonisphere.

Yap:

“We have tried so hard to get OMS back in shape in time for Sonisphere - music can be a funny path - our sounds were finding ground but then the ground just seemed to crumble - we have been working so hard to make it all come together but in truth it has be a real struggle we tried so hard to be ready but the fact is that as it stands today we are not ready - we were desperately not wanting to let any OMS fans down but we sadly have to pull out of the Sonisphere gig on July 9. Huge apologies from all of us if you bought a ticket especially to see us play - life is life folks and we are genuinely sorry. We want you to know that this is also just one gig we’re cancelling - we are still focused as a band and will continue to write and rehearse new material as we have been for the past 8 months and when we feel ready we will take the stage again and see you all in the pit - peace from Yap.”

Sonisphere news

OMS will be appearing on the Bohemia stage at Sonisphere in the UK on the Saturday, 9th July. If I remember rightly that's a tent - it might've felt a bit wrong moshing outside with OMS after all...

'We want to scare people'

Metal Hammer reckon 'the new material seems to be heading in a more electronic/industrial direction'. They're working with DnB artist Tech Itch.

Massy says of electronic music: 'you can't deny sonically how it makes you feel, it's a physical thing, the sub bass will always shoot through you'.

'There's no way we're going to come back and be mediocre.'

Can't wait!

Who is Martin Davies?

According to local papers a Yorkshire drum teacher! Martins says of becoming part of the band: "It's very exciting. I knew One Minute Silence before. I knew their sound guy and he recommended me for the gig to the bass player, who I'd also helped on his solo album. It's great for me. It's a band that really suits me and suits my style."
